During the next few months our house is going to be pretty busy with visitors. I had hoped to continue schooling through the summer holiday so that we could be ahead. It doesn't look too promising.First on the guest list is my sister and brother-in-law coming from China. They are arriving today (hooray!) and will stay with us and the Blackwoods for three weeks.
Next week we have a friend from Ireland moving in with us. He just lost his job and his dwelling so we told him he could move into our guest room. We kind of forgot that we had others coming to stay at the same time. After a two day Ikea run I do believe we have room for everyone. We finally decided to upgrade to a larger table. One that can extend to almost double its size. We have people over all the time and our little 8 seater table was not cutting it. Brandon also retrofitted an old church pew to be used on one side of the table. We call it the 'frankinpew'. The picture below shows the side of the pew that was attached to the wall. Without the wall and the fact that it is very old, the pew really couldn't hold anyone. So Brandon attached the side of a broken chair we had laying around in the garage to the end. He also adding some other bracing here and there making it nice and sturdy. I think it makes the pew look rather interesting, to say the least.
After Eleni and Allen leave we have a week before friends from the States and their two kids come. They will also be here for a week. We are really looking forward to their visit. It is always fun to show friends and family around the neighborhood and city that we live in.
After our US friends and Irish friend leave we have about a week before Brandon's parents, sister and her husband arrive. They will be staying with us for a little over three weeks. The kids are very excited about half the grandparents coming for a visit. We decided to delay Christmas until they arrive which has only added to the excitement.
About three days before B's dad, sister and husband leave to go back to the States, I will be hopping on a plane and flying to China. This is B's present to me for my 30th b-day. I will be visiting Eleni and Allen for about ten days in Changchun. Brandon's mom said that she could extend her visit and watch the kids for me while I travel around. I am organizing my plane reading list already :-)
By the time I get back from China we will have about two and a half months before we pack and travel to the States for a five and a half week visit with family and friends. Hopefully during that time we will attend the RP International conference.
We are also planning on shipping the mustang back during this US visit. That will be a post for some other time.
So yeah, I am not sure how much school work we will accomplish over the next 5 months. I suppose we will concentrate on geography. Lots of geography.
