While feeding the guinea pigs
G: "Do binny pigs eat dirt?"
B: "No!"
G:"Do binny pigs eat clothes?"
B:" No!"
G:"Do binny pigs eat 'del (Adele)?"
B:"No!"
Gids likes to watch me cook. While cooking...
Me: adding something to the soup
G:"Whats that?"
M:"It is sort of like salt."
G:"Salt! (throwing his hands into the air) Not again!"
Me: thinking to myself.."and how old are you?"
While at the dinner table...
A points to her wrist, "I can see my brain!"
J: "A, those are your veins, not brains!"

Painting the Psalms

| Painting with a sponge was great. I think I shall try it again soon. |
This comment has been tumbling around in my head for a while and would not go away. I began to ponder what one of the more emotional (to put it lightly) books of the Bible would look like as a painted infograph? And here I find myself with my newest study or research. A painting or infograph of the emotions found in the Book of Psalms.

| Test #1 - Psalms 1-7 |
There could be two layers to this painting. The lower layer could be the emotional undercurrent found in a particular Psalm and the top layer would be specific emotions mentioned. For my project I have decided to only paint the later. I have completed a few tests as well as the background for the canvas. We will see how it goes from here.
I have decided to post this in hopes that my family members will keep me accountable for finishing the project. I tend to get distracted.
I suppose my hope when finished is that this painting will remind our family that we are not alone in our emotions. Christ has experienced them as a man and as our Lord. I also hope that when people visit us who do not know Jesus this might be a good conversation starter.

What can I say? I love art.
The kids and I just watched this via our friend N. Bingham. Although I haven't seen the entire film, Ice Book looks lovely. Not just the viewing experience but how we get to see the end result of two peoples' ideas. In this case the ideas of Davy and Kristin McGuire. I always get excited seeing how people combine various mediums to communicate a story, thought, or idea. The creative ability God gives people is so fascinating. It is especially interesting when people via self-teaching create original and unusual works. Read the McGuire's bio on the Ice Book and you will see what I mean. Big budgets and fancy tools are not needed to create things of beauty.
The work of Davy & Kristin McGuire reminds me of the 1902 black and white film made by George Méliès called Le voyage dans la lune or The Trip to the Moon. G. Méliès work is apparently very much liked by the McGuires, so I shouldn't be surprised by the visual connection between the two.
You can watch Le voyage dans la lune here.
Note* Here is another video created by the same husband wife duo called The Girl With Two Tone Hair. This video uses the same technology as The Ice Book.
