Spring is here, finally

I thought it would be cool to start documenting all the flora and fauna of Australia that we discover. To start it off I will show you some pics of recent foliage that Jolene, Adele and I discovered during one of our walks around the neighborhood. The weather is warming up. This means beach time! I took Jolene and Adele to Barwon Heads on Saturday while Brandon was at work.

1. Acacia sophorae - "Coastal wattle"
Bright yellow flowers. Reminds me of a Doctor Seuss plant. We refer to them as pom-pom trees. I really like wattles, one of my favorite Aussie trees.

2. Callistemon phoeniceus - "Pink Ice"
Hot pink, spiky looking flower. This one was tree size about 15 feet high or so.

3. Dryandra obtusa- no common name
This flower is so cool, the size of my hand and not something easily damaged.

That is all for now. More some other time.

that second one looks like a bottlebrush tree from california. I wonder if it's the same thing.

I LOVE spring! It makes everything seem brighter. When I do paper round, I still stop at times to look at the beautiful flowers. Those pictures are really neat!

Hope you all are well, we have been having some germ sharing down here in Frankston. Thankfully I haven't gotten sick yet.

I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful spring day.

Yeah, the flu is going around here as well. It seems to last about 3 weeks. Thankfully we haven't got it yet but I doubt we can hold it off forever.
