Delphi

Alas but last Thursday (January 19th) was my last day working at Delphi Electronics and Safety. Its hard to believe I started out there almost three years ago as a contract engineer right out of college. Delphi is a large corporation and many humorous things happen at places like this (see Dilbert or Office Space). I did enjoy my time there and it was a good job to have.

I thought that I should go out in a memorable fashion, so I thought long and hard about what I would do on my last day. The good people in the Delphi HR department often post fliers for Delphi-sanctioned "have-fun-at-work" days. Usually these include a "jeans day", or a "Colts day." I was able to procure the ppt. file from one of these fliers and I made the following:

On Wednesday I posted a few of these around my office on my way out the door. On Thursday I arrived at work looking like this:

Most people I knew had a good laugh (including the managers and boss's bosses) and those I didn't know just stared or ignored me. Those that I did know that didn't find it amusing just ignored me as well. It was a fun way to leave the company and give them something to remember me by. Farewell Delphi! Who knows but that the Almighty might bring me back to good old Kokomo, IN to work within your bureaucratic walls!
