Today Jolene and I set up the bassinet. She enjoyed putting all the blankets in the bed. She has said that she will help change nappies, oh how I wish she could :-) I think I will at least have her help hand me wet wipes...or something. I don't want to dampen a willing spirit.
Speaking of willing to help spirits. A few weeks ago after dinner Jolene hopped off her chair and said "I'll wash my dish". I was about to say "no, it will be too much of a mess" when I stopped myself and realized how silly it was to hinder her from helping even if it meant cleaning up a different mess after wards. She got her stool from the bathroom and washed her plate and cup. I think most of the sink water ended up on her shirt or the floor :-) She has offered to several times after this. Even though I know a flood will follow I try to remember that she is wanting to help clean and that this attitude won't always be present in the future, so try to encourage it now!
We had a great time up at Mt. Baw Baw. Brandon was able to snowboard for about five hours on one of days. I told him that was his anniversary present :-) Jolene was our snow bunny. She thought it was great she could have a "popsicle" whenever she went outside. Jolene was constantly climbing the snowbanks and going everywhere. Now if Jolene was our snow bunny Adele was our ummmm farthest thing from it? Lets just say Adele was frowning or crying for most of the time we were outside. I think walking on the snow reminded her of learning how to walk...lots of slipping and falling. Maybe next year she will be a bit more adventurous. I had a good time even though I didn't do much. I was getting a bit restless on the last day due to everyone else being able to ski and snowboard. I haven't been snowboarding in almost three years...beginning to miss it. The problem is timing. Every other year we are in the States during the snow season here and then the years in between I have been pregnant.
Living in another country during the Olympics is weird. They show the sports that their people are in and not what the US is in (for the most part). Why in the world would they do that? :-)
I stayed up long enough during the opening ceremonies to see the US come out...I didn't wait for AUS though. They were something like second to last due to the way it is spelled in Chinese characters.
Watching the swimming tonight. I was wondering who invented the butterfly stroke? I mean really, what is the point? It seems so much harder than freestyle or backstroke. Why make it harder than it has to be? Did someone get bored with freestyle and say to himself "how could I make this look as awkward as possible as well as physically difficult?". I would like to know.

Glad you had a good trip. That makes me laugh about Jolene! Jocelyn likes to try and "help" change Ethan's diaper and "help" in the kitchen too. Won't it be nice when our little girls do get old enough to help out!
I like the trees you have there. And it's strange to see snow around trees that look like that, with the really thin bark. It doesn't look normal, but it's a nice look.
