I have to admit that the book I just read was not anything of substance but I still enjoyed it. Especially when the characters all began to whip out their special superhero powers in preparation for the battle of the millennium.
Recent events in our lives are as follows:
1. I recently had the joy of extracting a few chicken bones from Jolene's bottom end. She now knows the consequence of not chewing her food. Thankfully the bones didn't pierce her stomach/intestines, could have been a much longer story it they had.
2. Two weekends ago Brandon and I had the pleasure of attending a Sri Lankan wedding reception. The groom is someone from Brandon's work. They were married in Sri Lanka and had a reception over here for friends and family. It wasn't extremely different to most receptions except for the following:
a)we didn't eat until 9pm
b)they served the wedding cake before the meal
c)the food consisted of mainly curries (yum). One of which contained large peppers stuffed with other peppers. Of course Brandon trying to fit in ate half of a large pepper and subsequently cried involuntarily for 5-10 minutes. I told him not to eat it, so I didn't feel very sorry for him when his stomach began to do odd things and feel as if it was on fire.
I was able to meet B's boss as well as some of the co-workers. That was nice. We were asked by a few why we lived here and were able to tell our story (to be Christians in Australia).
We left the kids with the Blackwoods (great babysitters). Our first night away from all the children in about 6 months! Party on! No not really, we got back around 11 and promptly went to bed. Well, except for me who was in the middle of reading a vampire book and decided to stay up for a "bit" longer.
3. Gideon is about to crawl! He just turned 6 months, this is much earlier than the girls. He does this push-up move where he is on his hands and toes with his belly hovering above the floor. Sometimes he will get his knees in the proper place and start rocking back and forth. This usually ends up with him doing a face plant into the carpet. He is getting better :-)
4. Jacob, Addie, and Moriah Fisher will be flying out here on April 25th. Jacob will be staying for almost 3 weeks and the girls for 7. After the girls leave my parents will be arriving a few days later and staying for three weeks. So we will have family living with us for almost three months! Hooray!
5. Ken and Floy Smith are over here right now worshiping with us. It is great seeing them again. They are such an encouragement. Ken is leading the adult Sunday school class, covering church planting, as well as preaching in the morning. Church planting is a new idea for several at church. It is good to have Ken's wealth of knowledge on the subject at hand as our congregation wrestles with the idea of planting. Aside from that it is encouraging to see the zeal Ken and Floy have for evangelism and discipleship.

Gids looks so cute! Crawling: Cameron does a face plant and raises his butt in the air, or he raises real far up on his arms, but can't figure out both yet. He also flails his limbs everywhere and pivots, but can't crawl yet and he's 7.5 months. I'm not worried; he runs around his activity table in a "walker" thing that's attached to it, like no one's business. He RUNS. It's awesome.
Meg, you are the perfect person to have to do that for adele. There's no way I could have. That is also hilarious about the curries and peppers. I usually just cry when I eat my green curry, but I won't stop. I love it too much. I'm glad that you guys are going to get so many visitors. How nice! Gideon is the man! Good for him!
