For whom should I blog?

As a Christian I am constantly seeing new areas of my life that need to be handed over to Christ. I should refer to this as sanctification if I was sitting in on a theology class.

In highschool I played on a travel soccer team that was very demanding. For awhile I played on Sunday's going to games all over the state. One day I was really convicted and realized that I was keeping Christ out of my sports life. Soon after I told me team I would not being playing on Sunday's anymore, I had given my sports life to Christ. Traveling to soccer games was not the way to spend the Sabbath, a day of rest,. I mention this because I have recently been shown another area that needs to give glory to Christ.

I never really thought about blogging as being very important, just type what you are thinking that minute and publish it. A few weeks ago I read Barry York's blog which at that time was addressing the internet, blogging, and other related activities (see Dec. 29th). He really made the important point that we as Christians need to give the time we spend writing blogs, websites, etc. to God for His glory.

I think it is very easy to think that the internet is not an object and therefore doesn't fit in with the rest of life. How wrong that type of thinking is. Even though we can't touch, see, or smell the internet it is still something that is used to reach millions of people everyday.

My hope is that this blog will be used for God's glory. I also hope that others will read Barry's post and think the same thing.

until later,
Meg

I agree that we have to be careful if we are using the Internet in a way that glorifies God. I have realized this many times...but it seems I just mess up and have to be reminded again! The instaneous nature of IMing, and to some extent, email and blogging, can be good or bad depending on how you use it. Thanks for making me think about that for what surely will not be the last time!
